Position Title: Restoration Project Coordinator – Fort Collins (Seasonal)
Wildlands Restoration Volunteers seeks a seasonal Restoration Project Coordinator (RPC).  The RPC engages volunteers in a variety of restoration projects in the northern Colorado Front Range, assists with natural resource monitoring, coordinates and implements community outreach and marketing activities, provides logistical support for our trainings and events, and provides administrative support to our other professional staff and volunteers in the Fort Collins office. 

Duties include: correspondence with volunteers; data entry; tabling at outreach events; drafting and submitting press releases; managing adopt-a-site groups; providing support for projects and training events; errands; filing; assisting with the maintenance of a small office; and more.  WRV is a lean and highly effective organization with a small staff.  Everyone works together as a team, within a dynamic work environment, pitching in where needed to meet organizational needs.

Knowledge and Skills Desired:


  • Experience in natural resource management (knowledge of restoration ecology, botany, soil science, and/or watershed science is helpful but not necessary)
  • Experience in project management
  • Experience in marketing and community outreach
  • Ability to organize and prioritize
  • Ability to juggle several tasks simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of office equipment
  • Proficient with windows environment, MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), databases, and comfort with technology
  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience
  • College degree preferred but not required
  • Experience supporting a large volunteer community is a plus
  • Strong teamwork skills

Flexible, self-motivated, energetic, enthusiastic, initiative, interpersonal skills, professional, responsible, able to meet deadlines, detail oriented, willing to work evenings/weekends as needed, committed to public land stewardship, interest in volunteerism and service, and a good sense of humor.


Wages and Term: $11.00 to $13.50 per hour commensurate with experience.  This is a 30-40 hour per week position, but other arrangements may be considered.  Desired employment period is May 03 – October 01, 2010, but other arrangements may be considered.  This position will be stationed out of the Fort Collins office.
